Awarded to a full-time graduate/undergraduate international student who has demonstrated high achievement in his/her academic program and dedication to his/her field of study.

Scholarship Description: Each year the Center for International Education honors students who excel in academics or who promote cross-cultural understanding. Please read the descriptions below and apply for one award for which you qualify.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: 1. Allen & Lily Huang Global Citizenship Scholarship: $850. This award is given in the name of UNC’s long-time Provost and supporter of international education, Dr. Allen Huang, and his wife, Lily. The award is presented to a continuing international graduate or undergraduate student who has shown exceptional leadership in promoting understanding between cultures as well as exceptional academic achievement while at UNC. 2. The Graduate Academic Excellence Award: $750. Awarded to a full-time graduate international student who has demonstrated high achievement in his/her academic program and dedication to his/her field of study. 3. Undergraduate Academic Excellence Award: $750. Awarded to a full-time undergraduate international student who has demonstrated high achievement in his/her academic program and dedication to his/her field of study. 4. Bob Ross International Ambassador & Activities Award: $500. Awarded to a full time undergraduate or graduate international student who promotes cultural diversity and understanding through leadership in cross-cultural activities and organizations on campus. U.S. STUDENTS: 5. Global Understanding Award: $750. Awarded to a full time graduate or undergraduate U.S. student who promotes global understanding and is an active participant in cross-cultural activities on campus. Awarded to a U.S. student. 6. International Ambassador Award: $150 (2 awards). Awarded to a full-time U.S. graduate or undergraduate student who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the International Ambassadors Program. Applicants must be nominated by their assigned international friend.
