随着中西方经济、政治、科技、文化等交流的日益频繁与深化，翻译的题材内容呈现出多元化趋势。从佛经，日常交流，小说，诗歌到如今的科技文献、体育赛事、网络语言、媒体广告，这些都需要翻译员来搭建沟通理解的桥梁。关于翻译的标准的探究也一直在推进、充实。尤其是在最近一百年里关于翻译标准的研究进步最快，成果最丰富。本文通过对近现代和当代中外翻译名家的翻译理论的列举与浅析，力争对近现代和当代翻译标准的发展成果进行归纳与总结，试图记录下从严复老师的“信、达、雅”到当今的“多元互补理论”的发展过程。

With the increasingly frequent and profound exchanges between China and the West in economic, political, scientific, technological, cultural, and other fields, we see a tendency for translation to cover more and more subjects and content. What needs translators to build the bridge of communication and understanding ranges from Buddhist scriptures, daily communication, novels, and poems to today’s sci-tech literature, sports events, cyber language, and media advertising. At the same time, study on standards of translation has witnessed continued progress and enrichment. Particularly over the past one hundred years, such a study has made the most swift and fruitful progress. By giving a list and brief analysis of translation theories of modern and contemporary famed translators from China and other countries, this paper is aiming to summarize the development of modern and contemporary translation standards and to draw conclusions from it, as well as to paint a picture of the evolution of theories from Master Yanfu’s “faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance” to today’s Theory of Multi-complimentarily.
