Johnny Herbert was born in England on 27 June 1964.He started his racing career at the age of 10,driving a kart .Four years later,he became the British Junior Karting Chamipion.In 1982,he won the British senior title.
At the age of nineteen ,he moved into car racing and was soon winning major championships.Sadly,in August 1988,he was invoived in a multiple car accident at Brands Hatch(an English circuit) and received very serious leg injuries.
After a season with Benetton,he joined Team Lotus in 1990 and was soon competing successfully in Grand Prix events.
